Our Story...

Michelle

I lived an average childhood with my parents and younger brother in Ottawa, always encouraged to follow my dreams! Throughout my life I always wondered what was my purpose in life. I had my two girls at a young age in relationships that broke apart. For about a year, my dark days consumed me. I thank God everyday for giving me 2 beautiful children who always reminded me that I was important too, they saved my life with just a smile and an I love you. During my first born's first year I graduated from college with a Medical Office Administration diploma. I struggled to find work. In 2013, I worked as a receptionist for 8 months until I got layed off. I've spent most of my days on social assistance raising my girls until I realized I had to be a better role model to them. I had been juggling this career idea for 2 years and it was time to take a step forward.  I met my fiance and his two boys in 2014. My fiance's determination and confidence in business inspired me to not let fear hold me back from my dreams.

Anne and I have been best friends for 6 years now. Our friendship has shown me courage, strength and motivation in life. When this career idea became my lifelong dream, I couldn't imagine not sharing it with her.  Event and Wedding Planning has always been a dream of mine. Seeing the smiles and tears of joy on your clients faces throughout the whole process as well as doing what I absolutely love everyday is what allows me to look at life and my children and know that I have found my purpose.

Ottawa has been my home since birth where my childhood was less than happy. CAS had become my second home due to my traumatic childhood. I left to be on my own the moment I could. I had my two children at a very young age and always promised that they would have a better childhood than mine. About 10 years ago I tried going to school to better myself but soon suffered from endometriosis. My education was quickly taken from me by this disease. I did not think twice about the surgery that was offered to me. I have been pain free since then and regained control over my body and my life. I have tried finding work over the years but nothing really felt right, whether my resume was disregarded or I dreaded my days at certain jobs. I also have spent my life wondering what was my purpose. Why am I really here. I felt like, apart from my children, I was just a big jinx in my own life, unlucky.

I met Michelle 6 years ago through a friend. Unexpectedly, we became best friends instantly. She has shown me confidence, trust, and perspective on what life is all about. The struggles I had been facing were only obstacles testing my strength. Strength that was being overpowered with doubt in myself. I had always truly enjoyed event and wedding planning but never imagined owning a business. When the idea came up, I couldn't say no. My dream career shared with my best friend, it couldn't feel more right. Hearing thank you's, seeing tears in clients' eyes and true happiness shining through those tears, I know I am where I am supposed to be and doing what I should. Now I get to look in my children's eyes and say, "No matter what happens in your life, never give up, one day someone or something will be sent to you, and it will change your life!". I have found my purpose.
